"Tonia and Her Children"

'Tonia and Her Children' is a film about the consequences of the parents’ ideological choices, which are borne by their children. The director presents a story of siblings, Wera and Marcel Lechtman, who were sent to a children’s home while their mother, a pre‑war communist, was arrested. In the film the protagonists recollect the past and are trying to understand their mother’s choices. They speak about their very personal experiences. ‘We can see from the inside (...) the hell of ideology paved with good intentions’ (T. Sobolewski).
