700th anniversary of Vilnius. Special screening

3.06 SAT 21:00
PAWILON JÓZEFA CZAPSKIEGO

Celebrating the 700th anniversary of Vilnus we would like to present two excellent films about this beautiful city seen from two different perspectives. Eitvydas Doškus’s ‘Once Upon in Vilnius’ (2021) is a unique symphony of the city in which the director tries to preserve important places, urban rituals and people. The history of Vilnus is the focus of ‘Time Passes Through the City’ (1966) by Almantas Grikevičius. It is the only film from the Soviet era in which Vilnus was cast as the protagonist. The contrasting score gives the audience an idea of the city’s size, its past as well as its residents.
