The element of Mehdi Imani Shahmiri’s film is a story. The story is told by the protagonist, an old woman named Keshvar Jafari, and interwoven with threads of an intricate carpet being made in her hands. It tells about the wind, boundless meadows and mountains of Iran. Its focus is attachment to a place and tradition, which includes customs older than Islam. The impressionistic character of this poetic documentary offers an insight into the unique topography of a village at the foot of the mountains with streets carved in rock. Most of all, however, it is a tribute to Keshvar, who puts her heart into her colourful carpets.
