Til We Meet Again

The Estonian island of Ruhnu is less than 12 km2 in size. Before the war, it was inhabited by a few hundred people, today the number of permanent residents is not even a hundred. During World War II, all the inhabitants had to evacuate for fear of an attack. Now, some of them are returning to the island to find fragments of their former lives in the scraps of nature, small objects and surviving houses. In this stop-motion animation, the characters have been created from natural materials found on the island - stones, string and bird feathers - which makes the film more authentic and poignant at the same time.
