It shows us a socially desperate but charismatic man using disobedience to fight for democracy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE SILVER HORN<\/strong> for the director of the film with high artistic values \u2013 <strong>Oan Kim and Brigitte Bouillot for The <\/strong><strong>Man Who Paints Water Drops<\/strong> (France, South Korea)<br \/>\nA beautiful, meditative essay film about a traumatised man and his precise art seen through the eyes of his fascinated, thoughtful son. Precise editing which captures shifting states of mind. Haunting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE SILVER HORN<\/strong> for the director of the film on social issues \u2013 <strong>Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh for Writing<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>with Fire<\/strong> (India)<br \/>\nA film full of bravery and the unstoppable energy of Indian women questing for truth and justice. It beautifully captures how smartphones can liberate and the power of persistent journalism. Inspiring, and should be shown everywhere.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL MENTION<\/strong> for <strong>Inside the Red Brick Wall directed by Hong Kong Documentary Filmmaker<\/strong> (Hong<br \/>\nKong)<br \/>\nA boldly immersive film about the need for, and limits of, protest. The film uses a classic observational style to bear witness to young ardour and the erosion of democracy in Hong Kong. It is psychologically rich and potent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL MENTION<\/strong> for<strong> North by Current directed by Angelo Madsen Minax<\/strong> (USA)<br \/>\nA multilayered, innovative film about family secrets and the unravelling of history. By confronting the complexity of his experiences, the filmmaker finds catharsis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics)<br \/>\n<\/strong>Jury consisting of: Piotr Czerkawski (Poland), Vladimir Seput (Croatia), Dieter Wieczorek (France) has decided to award the\u00a0 International Film Critics Prize to <strong>Gorki Glaser-M\u00fcller for Children of the Enemy<\/strong> (Sweden, Denmark)<\/p>\n<p>For its strong and passionate portrayal of the Swedish-Chilean grandfather Patricio in search of his seven neglected grandchildren in the al-Hol refugee camp in Syria. Children of the Enemy raises important ethical questions around human guilt, responsibility and inheritance of trauma, while avoiding a one-sided perspective on the complex political issues and showing how the European political diplomacy didn&#8217;t play the most elegant role in humanitarian efficacy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having watched all the competition films, the International Short Film Jury consisting of: Anca Damian \u2013 chairwoman (Romania), Maciej Bochniak (Poland), Darya Bassel (Ukraine), Laura D\u2019Asta (UK), Felipe Montoya (Colombia), has decided to award the following prizes:<\/p>\n<p><strong>GOLDEN DRAGON<\/strong> for the director of the best film \u2013 <strong>Michelle Kranot and Uri Kranot for The Hangman at<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Home<\/strong> (Denmark, France, Canada)<br \/>\nFor beautifully intertwining the stories of five apparently unrelated characters with Carl Sandburg&#8217;s poem (The Hangman at Home), to an almost apocalyptic conclusion. An animation with powerful detailed design, cinematography and sound, that provokes the audience\u2019s shifting experience, and raises questions about social habits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SILVER DRAGON<\/strong> for the director of the best documentary film \u2013 <strong>Raluca Lupascu for God Was Here!<\/strong> (The Netherlands)<br \/>\nFor offering a local and universal story where faith is questioned across time and nature, while capturing with timeless grace and outstanding cinematography, the dual essence of the Romanian Maglavit\u2019s rural community with its ancient religious beliefs and traditions impacting on a younger generation in distrust<\/p>\n<p><strong>SILVER DRAGON<\/strong> for the director of the best animated film \u2013 <strong>Loris Giuseppe Nese for Bad Mood<\/strong> (Italy)<br \/>\nFor using a timeless, minimalist and very effective animation and documentary style to portray the relationship between a carer and the families she works for, while delving in her struggles and the emotions of the ones that care for her. The choice of using southern-Italian dialect reinforces the characters\u2019 background.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SILVER DRAGON<\/strong> for the director of the best short fiction film \u2013 <strong>Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson for Rough <\/strong>(Ireland)<br \/>\nFor portraying with humour and irony a touch of humanity within a post-conflict Northern Irish street gang when they face the decision to spare a dog\u2019s life. An achievement in mixing film genres and twisting the story, with a minimalistic and very effective narrative approach and a good cast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL MENTION<\/strong> for<strong> Come Here directed by Marieke Elzerman<\/strong> (Belgium)<br \/>\nFor capturing, with striking cinematography and subtle acting, the depth of emotions and perceptions of shy, edgy characters working in a dog shelter versus neurotic\/damaged dog\u2019s owners.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jury Award for the Best European Film<\/strong> (Krakow Candidate to the European Film Award 2021 in the short film category) \u2013 <strong>Daniel Grey for Hide<\/strong> (Hungary, France, Canada)<br \/>\nA forethoughtful and moving quantic experience that takes the viewer on the journey of a lifetime, through the eyes and breath of a kid. The stunning animation, sound design and cinematography powerfully convey an increasingly fragmented and unrecognizable world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The International Federation of Film Societies (FICC)<br \/>\n<\/strong>Jury consisting of: Igor D\u0105browski (Poland), N\u00f3ra S\u00e1ndor (UK), Rajbhushan Shyamsundar Sahasrabuddhe (India) has\u00a0 decided to grant the <strong>Don Quixote Award to the film Hide directed by Daniel Gray<\/strong> (Hungary, France, Canada) and\u00a0 the<strong> Special Mention to the film: Locked Out directed by Julien Goudichaud<\/strong> (France)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>NATIONAL COMPETITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having watched all the competition films, the National Competition Jury consisting of: Jan P. Matuszy\u0144ski \u2013 chairman, Piotr Berna\u015b, Krzysztof Czy\u017cewski, Katarzyna Janowska, Adriana Prodeus has decided to award the following prizes:<\/p>\n<p><strong>GOLDEN HOBBY-HORSE<\/strong> for the director of the best film funded by the President of the Polish Filmmakers<br \/>\nAssociation \u2013 <strong>Tomasz Wysoki\u0144ski for Walk With Angels<\/strong> (Poland)<br \/>\nFor being an honest guide through the heart of darkness, professionalism in storytelling, conscious narration through a ruthless, distant world and a film that is hard to stop thinking about.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SILVER HOBBY-HORSE<\/strong> for the director of the best documentary film over 30 minutes \u2013 <strong>Tomasz Wolski for<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1970<\/strong> (Poland)<br \/>\nFor inventing a new cinematic language that&#8217;s appropriate to this particular story being told, for the perfect combination of documentary footage, sound archives, and animation, allowing us to experience the cruel events of the past and see in them a parallel to the present.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SILVER HOBBY-HORSE<\/strong> for the director of the best documentary film under 30 minutes \u2013<strong> Andrzej Cichocki for A<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Little Bit of Paradise<\/strong> (Poland)<br \/>\nFor a short film about infinity, which brings out the inconceivable luminosity of life from the shadows of marginality, poverty, and degradation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SILVER HOBBY-HORSE<\/strong> for the director of the best animated film \u2013 <strong>Michalina Musialik for Dog\u2019s Field<\/strong> (Poland)<br \/>\nFor crafting a multidimensional and metaphorical story about human attitudes and choosing the appropriate means of expression.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SILVER HOBBY-HORSE<\/strong> for the director of the best short fiction film \u2013 <strong>Nastazja Gonera for First Last Summer<\/strong><br \/>\n(Poland)<br \/>\nFor its subversive look at human and animal issues and its ambiguous, consistent narrative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL MENTION<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Karolina Kajetanowicz for film Green<\/strong> (Poland)<br \/>\nFor creating an evocative sensory experience through the minimalist means of animated film and for exploring the boundary of the end of the Anthropocene.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL MENTION<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Monika Proba for film Light Years<\/strong> (Poland)<br \/>\nFor an exceptionally light and sensitive film that is as subtle as it is courageously sympathetic to the madness of love.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL MENTION<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Micha\u0142 Kawecki for film No Hero at All<\/strong> (Poland)<br \/>\nFor great sensitivity and psychological insight, creating a visually and narratively attractive documentary that blurs the line between genres and becomes cinema in its purest form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL MENTION \u2013 Mateusz Kud\u0142a, Anna Kokoszka-Romer for film Pola\u0144ski, Horowitz.
