He has been a Film professor at the University of Zurich since 1997. His main research interests include documentary filmmaking, Asian cinema, film aesthetics and technology. He regularly works as a film critic and journalist. In 2013, he published a book on narrative and the history of slow motion. He has been a member of the selection committee and presenter of the Critics\u2019 Week at the Locarno Film Festival since 2002 and its chief delegate since 2019. From 2011 to 2019 he served on the programme committee of the Duisburg Film Week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Ohad Milstein<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Israel<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>Born in 1973 in Israel. He is a documentary filmmaker, photographer, and video artist. He studied directing at the Tel Aviv University. He teaches Cinema at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Among other works, he directed the award-winning film <i>Summer Nights<\/i> (2021), which will be screened at this year\u2019s Krakow Film Festival. His work has a distinctive cinematic language that combines artistic and documentary cinema.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Christine Camdessus<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>France<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>She was born in 1961 in France. She was a lawyer and worked in finance. In 2001, she founded her own production company Algeria Production, which has proven very successful \u2013 over 60 creative documentaries it had produced were distributed to countries all over the world. She is a member of the European Documentary Network (EDN) and the European Film Academy (EFA). Since 2018, she is the managing and artistic director of the French festival FIPADOC.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Petrula Veljanovska<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6><\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>She was born in Macedonia. She studied classical philology at The Saints Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. For several years, she worked as an audio-visual translator at film festivals. Since 2009, she has been a programmer of short films and the kids and youth section at the Macedonian MakeDox festival and is also its PR manager.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Agnieszka Zwiefka<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Poland<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>Born in 1978 in Poland. She is a documentary film director. Her film <i>The Queen of Silence<\/i> (2014) won over 20 awards at international film festivals, including the Silver Horn at the Krakow Film Festival. She works as an assistant professor at the University of Wroclaw, teaching documentary film directing. She is a member of the European Film Academy, EWA European Women\u2019s Audiovisual Network, and the Polish Filmmakers Association. She participated in international training programmes such as ESoDoc, DOK.Incubator, ScripTeast, and Berlinale Talents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"International-Short-Film-Competition\" class=\"my-4 pt-5 dividerstyled\">International Short Film Competition<\/h2>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Juliusz Machulski<\/h3>\n<h5>Chairman<\/h5>\n<h6>Poland<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>Born in 1955 in Poland. He is a film director, screenwriter, and producer. He graduated from the \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Film School and studied at Call-Arts (USA) in 1984-85. He is the founder and artistic director of ZEBRA Film Studio. He is a laureate of the Wyspia\u0144ski Award (1985), the Chairman of the Cinematography Committee Award (1990), the Minister of Culture and Art Award (1998), and numerous other festival awards. Member of the European Film Academy (EFA).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Andrea Martignoni<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Italy<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>He was born in 1961 in Italy. Lives in Berlin. He is a performer, freelance sound designer, and film animation historian. He created scores for short animated films made by artists from all over the world, including the famous street artist Blu and Italian illustrator Roberto Catani. He works with The Animation Workshop in Viborg, as well as with international festivals, giving masterclasses, workshops and lectures on topics related to animation and sound. Since 2020, he is the artistic director at the ANIMAPHIX International Animation Film Festival in Sicily.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Anita Reher<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Dennmark<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>She comes from Denmark. She was Executive Director of The Flaherty in New York, and worked on creative documentary projects at the EU MEDIA Program. She co-founded the European Documentary Network (EDN), where she planned and coordinated pitches. She is currently the director of Nordisk Panorama, one of the most important film events in Scandinavia, which showcases Nordic documentaries and short films and also hosts the Short Film Pitch and Nordic Market &amp; Conference. Nordisk Panorama facilitates industry networking and co-production opportunities between the Scandinavian countries and other European states.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Olga Lucovnicova<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Moldova<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>She was born in 1991 in Moldova. She lives and works in Belgium. She is a documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, photographer, and researcher in the field of audio-visual arts. She studied cinematography at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chi\u0219in\u0103u, Moldova, and directing at DOC NOMADS. Her latest film <i>My Uncle Tudor<\/i> received the Golden Bear at the 71st Berlinale and the 2021 European Film Award for Best Short Film. Her style combines observational cinema with poetic elements, where human emotions and feelings are key factors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Amer Salmeen Al Murry<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>United Arab Emirates<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>He comes from the United Arab Emirates. A screenwriter, director, and film producer. He graduated from the New York Film Academy in Abu Zabi. He is the founder and director of the Al Ain Film Festival. He worked as a television presenter and editor-in-chief of several magazines. He is a director, cinematographer, and author of creative documentaries and feature films.\u00a0 He graduated from the Wajda School and the Institute of Applied Social Sciences of the University of Warsaw. His filmography includes titles such as <i>Altered States of Conciousness<\/i> (2020), <i>Opera About Poland<\/i> (2017), <i>A Diary of a Journey<\/i> (2013), <i>The Last Day of Summer<\/i> (2010) or <i>7 x Moscow<\/i> (2005), which were screened and awarded at many festivals. In 2016, he was nominated for the European Film Award for his film <i>21 x New York<\/i>. He participated in the College Cinema Biennale in Venice. Member of both the European and Polish Film Academy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Kuba Mikurda<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Poland<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>Born in 1981. He is a director, film researcher, head of the Institute of Art Studies and of the Film Essay Studio at the \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Film School. He worked as a film critic, journalist, and publisher. He has published <i>Nie-ca\u0142o\u015b\u0107. \u017di\u017eek, Dollar, Zupan\u010di\u010d<\/i> (2015) and has edited, <i>Wunderkamera. Kino Terry\u2019ego Gilliama<\/i> (2011) and <i>Boro, l\u2019ile d\u2019amour. The Films of Walerian Borowczyk<\/i> (together with Kamila Kuc and Micha\u0142 Oleszczyk), among others. In 2018, he made his film debut \u2013 a feature-length documentary <i>Love Express. The Disappearance of Walerian Borowczy<\/i>, and in 2021 he released the award-winning <i>Escape to the Silver Globe<\/i>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Anna Sienkiewicz-Rogowska<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Poland<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>She is a cultural manager. She graduated from the Cracow University of Economics and the Ko\u017ami\u0144ski University in Warsaw. From 2008 to 2015 she worked at the Polish Film Institute, where she headed the Film Culture Dissemination and Promotion Department. She was director of the National Film Archive from 2015 to 2017, and deputy director of the National Film Archive \u2013 Audiovisual Institute from 2017 to 2021, where she supervised the departments responsible for, among others: digitalisation of collections and film education. She has been an expert to the Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport and a lecturer at UKSW and SWPS. Currently, she is the deputy director of the Museum of Warsaw.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Ma\u0142gorzata Szy\u0142ak<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Poland<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>Born in 1975. She is a cinematographer. She studied at the cinematography department at the \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Film School and also graduated in Art History at the University of Warsaw.\u00a0 She was the cinematographer for documentaries and feature films which won numerous awards at festivals, including <i>Anatomy<\/i> by Ola Jankowska, <i>Communion<\/i> by Anna Zam\u0119cka, <i>Three Women<\/i> and <i>Wild Roses<\/i> by Anna Jadowska, or <i>End of the World<\/i> by Monika Pawluczuk. She is a member of the European Film Academy and the Polish Society of Cinematographers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Daria Kopiec<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Poland<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>Born in 1983. She is a film and theatre director and cooperates with various cultural institutions. She graduated from the cinematography department at \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Film School (specialization: animation and film special effects), she also studied at the Directing Department of the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. For a few months she was an intern at the \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Arts Visuels \u2013 La Cambre in Brussels. Her filmography includes such films as: <i>Your Own Bullshit<\/i> (2020), <i>First Time<\/i> (2016), <i>Cosmos<\/i> (2016), or <i>Gucio Enchanted<\/i> (2015). He is a composer and pianist and the only Grammy award winner in the history of Polish jazz. He is a graduate of the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the piano class of Barbara Hesse-Bukowska, as well as of the Jazz Department at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik in Hamburg. He received his doctorate in 2007 and a postdoctoral degree in 2017 at the Chopin University of Music, where he currently teaches improvisation. He won numerous awards for best jazz and film music. In 2021, he completed three poetry and music projects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Roman Gutek<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Poland<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>He was born in 1958 in Poland. He studied at the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw and at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In 1985, he created the Warsaw Film Festival. He is the founder and co-owner of Gutek Film, a film distribution company specialising in auteur cinema. He is the founder and director of the New Horizons International Film Festival and the American Film Festival , both held in Wroclaw. Also, he is a co-founder of Post Pxrn Film Festival Warsaw, which will take place on June 7-12, 2022. A member of the European Film Academy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Robert Kirchhoff<\/h3>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h6>Slovakia<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>Born in 1968 in Slovakia. He is a director, scriptwriter, and independent producer of award-winning Slovak and Czech documentaries. His films critically analyse current social phenomena. He studied documentary film directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where he is an associate professor and lecturer. He is also the founder and director of atelier.doc, an independent production organisation focusing primarily on producing documentary and TV films.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"FIPRESCI\" class=\"my-4 pt-5 dividerstyled\">FIPRESCI<\/h2>\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Nino Kova\u010di\u0107<\/h3>\n<h6>Croatia<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>He was born in Croatia. He is a freelance journalist, film festival programmer and contributor, and film educator. He has worked at various film festivals, including Animafest, ZagrebDox, Zagreb Film Festival, and 25fps. He also teaches film analysis at workshops intended for children and adolescents. As a film critic, he publishes in specialized film magazines and websites such as \u201cCroatian Film Chronicles\u201d and \u201cZona Filma\u201d. As a member of FIPRESCI, he was a juror at Festroia, Jerusalem FF, Motovun FF, GoEast, and IDFA festivals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Yun-Hua Chen<\/h3>\n<h6>Taiwan<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>She studied linguistics and film in Taiwan, France and Scotland, where she obtained her PhD at the University of St Andrews. She is a freelance film researcher and contributing editor at Film International. She also publishes in \u201cCinephilia\u201d, \u201cDirectory of World Cinema\u201d, and \u201cJournal of Chinese Cinemas\u201d. Her monograph \u201cMosaic Space and Mosaic Auteurs\u201d was published by Neofelis Verlag, Berlin. She has worked as director of the dokumentART festival, a film festival in Neubrandenburg, Germany, and\u00a0a member of the selection committee at the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Giuseppe Sedia<\/h3>\n<h6>Italy<\/h6>\n<div>\n<p>An Italian journalist born in France, living and working in Poland. He is a reporter for the Italian daily Il Manifesto and former editor of Krakow Post. He runs the website and film archive Kino Mania, which is entirely dedicated to Polish cinema. His articles and essays on film and visual arts have appeared in several magazines in Italy and abroad (\u201cCineforum\u201d, \u201cFilm International\u201d, \u201cSentieri Selvaggi\u201d).
