Fischmarkt<br>14 May to 14 June | Galeria ZPAF (Zwi\u0105zku Polskich Artyst\u00f3w Fotografik\u00f3w)<br>31 May | 16.00 | Opening event<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Tadeusz Rolke, a recently deceased giant of Polish photography, lived and worked in Hamburg during the 1970s. One of his favourite spots in the North German metropolis was Altonaer Fischmarkt \u2014 the Sunday fish market on the banks of the Elbe. This bustling space, combining commercial and social functions, inspired the photographic series \u2018Fischmarkt\u2019. The black-and-white, feature-style shots showcase what is perhaps the most valued in Rolke\u2019s work \u2014 his interest in people and their individuality, as well as his sense of humour and exceptional observational skills. The exhibition is part of this year\u2019s leading theme of Krak\u00f3w Photomonth, promoted with the slogan \u2018Unreal Estate\u2019 \u2014 a story of Polish-German relations and entanglements against the broad backdrop of Central Europe. Szary: The cookbook<br>1 May to 7 June | 12.00-18.00 | UFO Art Gallery<br>30 maja| 18.00 | Closing event<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Closing event and a meeting with the artist and the authors of the accompanying publication.<br>Zuzanna Szary\u2019s new exhibition at UFO Art Gallery is a logical continuation of the themes and motifs the artist has explored so far. The figure who inspired the artist is Gertrude Stein\u2019s life partner, Alice B. Toklas, author of the famous \u2018The Alice B. Toklas Cook Book\u2019. It is precisely this work that Zuzanna Szary has drawn upon in creating an ambiguous and unsettling new cycle of paintings depicting animals, food, and abundance. The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalogue of the artist\u2019s works, featuring texts by Renata Lis and Dorota Kotas as well as a transcribed conversation with Zuzanna Szary.
