It will be presented to a film that expands the artistic boundaries of documentary, which, in an age of formats and formulas imposed by algorithms, is a particularly sought-after value. The aim of the Award is not only to commemorate Marcel \u0141ozi\u0144ski, but also to recognise that his creative approach to film language lives on and continues to find successors around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an international award, presented to the director of a documentary film \u2013 whether feature-length or short \u2013 produced anywhere in the world. It may be granted to an established filmmaker or to a debut director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award is funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/pisf.pl\/\"><u>Polish Film Institute (PISF)<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award is partnered by <a href=\"https:\/\/dae-europe.org\/\"><u>DAE<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/businessdoceurope.com\/\"><u>Business Doc Europe<\/u><\/a> is the main media partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Krakow Film Festival is on the exclusive list of film events qualifying for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oscars.org\/\">Academy Awards\u00ae<\/a> in short film categories (fiction, animation, documentary) and feature-length documentary, the <a href=\"https:\/\/europeanfilmawards.eu\/?p=1\">European Film Awards<\/a> in the same categories, and serves as a qualifying event for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bafta.org\/\">BAFTA Awards.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Krakow Film Festival is organised with financial support from the City of Krakow, the Polish Film Institute, the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme, and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund \u2013 a state purpose fund.
