During the eight\u00a0festival days, the viewers have a chance to watch about 250 films from\u00a0Poland\u00a0and from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are waiting for\u00a0submissions of documentary, animated and\u00a0short films to the four competitions \u2013 Polish competition and three international competitions: documentary film competition, short film competition and the music documentary film competition DocFilmMusic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the co-operation with the European Film Academy, the festival award-winners are on the fast track as far as applying for the European Film Award nominations in the categories: the best feature-length documentary film and the best short film is concerned. For several years, the festival has been included on the list of festivals qualifying for the Academy Awards in the short film category, which means that the winners of all three awards in the short film competition are on a fast track to\u00a0the Academy Award nominations. This year, the Krakow Film Festival, as the only festival in\u00a0Poland, is included in the\u00a0prestigious group of festivals qualifying for the\u00a0Oscar award also in the\u00a0feature-length documentary film category.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Krakow Film Festival is accredited by FIAPF.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadlines for submitting films for\u00a0to the selection in the Polish competition:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The 30<sup>th<\/sup> of November, 2018<\/strong>, if the film was completed before the 31<sup>st<\/sup> of\u00a0October 2018.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The 15<sup>th<\/sup> of February 2019, <\/strong>if the film was completed after the\u00a031<sup>st<\/sup> of October 2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>From among the films submitted to the\u00a0Polish competition, the selection panel chooses films which participate in the\u00a0international competition (they have to meet the requirements which are obligatory in\u00a0the individual competitions), in the new section <strong>Panorama of the Polish documentary film<\/strong> and other non-competing sections.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadlines for submitting films to the\u00a0international competitions: short film competition, documentary film competition and the\u00a0DocFilmMusic competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The 30<sup>th<\/sup> of November, 2018<\/strong>, if the film was completed before the 31<sup>st<\/sup> of\u00a0October 2018.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The 31<sup>st<\/sup> of January 2019, <\/strong>if the film was completed after the\u00a031<sup>st<\/sup> of October 2018.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the short film competition,\u00a0<\/strong>feature, animated and\u00a0documentary films with a running time of no more than 30 minutes\u00a0compete for the <strong>Golden Dragon<\/strong> award.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the documentary film competition, the main award is the Golden Horn, <\/strong>and documentary films\u00a0with a running time\u00a0longer than 30\u00a0minutes: medium- and\u00a0feature-length films participate in this competition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the DocFilmMusic competition, the Golden Heynal award <\/strong>goes to one of \u00a0music documentary films with\u00a0a running time longer than 50\u00a0minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Polish competition, the main award of which is the Golden Hobby-Horse<\/strong>, accepts submissions only of Polish feature and\u00a0animated films no longer than 30\u00a0minutes and documentary films of \u00a0any length.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In all three international competitions, a Polish premi\u00e8re is required, while an international premi\u00e8re is preferred.<\/strong> In the\u00a0Polish competition, preference is given to the premi\u00e8re films, which have not been distributed in cinemas in Poland and which have not been shown at\u00a0any other Polish film festival, taking place before the 59<sup>th<\/sup> KFF.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Submit your film &gt;&gt;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dot.krakowfilmfestival.pl\/editors.entry\/en\"><strong>FILL IN\u00a0THE FORM<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The rules of\u00a0submitting a\u00a0film&gt;&gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.krakowfilmfestival.pl\/en\/59th-kff\/rules-and-regulations\/\"><strong>RULES AND REGULATIONS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Follow our news on the\u00a0website and in the\u00a0social media: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/krakowfilmfest\"><strong>Facebook<\/strong><\/a><strong>, <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/krakowfilmfest\"><strong>Twitter<\/strong><\/a> and<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/krakowfilmfestival\/\"><strong>Instagram<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Krakow Film Festival waits for\u00a0your film! &nbsp; The submission for the\u00a059th Krakow Film Festival, which is held from the\u00a026th of\u00a0May to the 2nd of\u00a0June 2019, have just started. &nbsp; The Krakow Film Festival is one of the oldest events in the world, dedicated to documentary, animated and short feature films.
