For portraying our contemporary obsessions and fears in very innovative, funny and accessible way.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nSILVER DRAGON <\/strong>for\nthe director of the best short fiction film \u2013 Dekel\nBerenson<\/strong>\nfor Ashmina<\/strong>\n(United Kingdom, Nepal)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharp analysis of a contemporary social contrasts. For its unique simple, but professional cinematography. A short story told with a great sensibility and heart creating a moving authentic film. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPECIAL MENTION<\/strong> for Ahmed\u2019s Song<\/strong> directed by Foued Mansour<\/strong> (France)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury decided to distinguish the film, which probably the most amused and moved the viewers of the festival. This distinction goes to a mature film with well-thought-out dialogues and excellent actor performance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPECIAL MENTION<\/strong> for Bror<\/strong> directed by Sara Hjort Ditlevsen<\/strong> (Denmark)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury decided to distinguish the director’s debut for the brave story, the natural style and great conducting of the actor.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jury\nAward for the Best European Film<\/strong>\n(Krakow Candidate to the European Film Award 2019 in the short film\ncategory) \u2013 Vuk\nMitevski<\/strong>\n(Macedonia) for One\nof Many<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Federation of Film Societies (FICC) Jury consisting of: Anita Moe (Norway), Grzegorz Pie\u0144kowski (Poland), Michael Sch\u00e4fer (Germany) has decided to grant the Don Quixote Award to the film Dandelion Mum<\/strong> directed by Barbora Hollan <\/strong>(Norway) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film tells the story about an extraordinary woman, who never gives up and struggle for her life, both against the cancer and by criticizing a health system which still takes decisions based on money instead of ethics and humanity. She is fighting with the same undestroyable positive energy as the Spanish character Don Quixote! The woman\u2019s struggling and the film can make a difference in the future, also for people without her capacity, intellect, knowledge, and science perspective.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and the Special Mentionto the film: Ahmed\u2019s Song <\/strong>directed by Foued Mansour <\/strong>(France)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a sweet story, well filmed, charming characters and it tells us an immigrant`s story through the eyes of an immigrant. Well done!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

INTERNATIONAL\nDocFilmMusic COMPETITION<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Having\nwatched all the competition films, the International DocFilmMusic\nJury, consisting of: Brett\nMorgen\n\u2013 chairman\n(USA),\nAdam\nThorsmark\n(Denmark),\nMiko\u0142aj\nTrzaska (Poland),\nhas decided to award the following prize:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GOLDEN HEYNAL<\/strong> for the director of the best film \u2013 Stian Servoss <\/strong>and Benjamin Langeland <\/strong>for Once Aurora<\/strong> (Norway)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jury has decided to award the Golden Heynal to Once Aurora for artistic achievement and for elevating the musical documentary genre to new heights. The filmmakers mastery over the medium was awe inspiring and we look forward to seeing what they do next with their careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NATIONAL\nCOMPETITION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jury of the Polish Competition at the 59th Krakow Film Festival faced the difficult task of selecting the best out of 46 competition films, representing various genres and a varied, not always satisfying, artistic level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having\nwatched all the competition films, the National Competition Jury\nconsisting of: Maciej\nKarpi\u0144ski\n \u2013 chairman,\nWeronika\nBilska,\nDamian Nenow, Marta Prus, Tomasz Raczek\nhas decided to award the following prizes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GOLDEN HOBBY-HORSE<\/strong> for the director of the best film funded by the President of the Polish Filmmakers Association \u2013 Grzegorz Paprzycki <\/strong>for My Country So Beautiful<\/strong> (Poland)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For taking up the current topic in accordance with the tradition of Polish documentary film participating in public life.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The student jury decided to award the prize to the film, which creates an intimate portrait of a young artist struggling with herself and the surrounding world for her own identity in the rhythm of synthpop in an original way.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
