Three pitching sessions took place during this year’s edition of KFF Industry online: Animated in Poland \u2013 for Polish animated projects in production \u2013 and, co-organised with Doc Lab Poland, Docs to Start and Docs to Go! \u2013 for Polish documentary projects in development and in postproduction. On the industry award gala the awards for the best presentations were announced. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two<\/span> Animated in Poland <\/span><\/strong>awards found their new owners. <\/span>The Audiovisual Technology Center Special Mention<\/span><\/strong> went to the project <\/span>\u201cSlow Light\u201d<\/span><\/strong> directed by Katarzyna Kijek and Przemys\u0142aw Adamski and produced by Animoon studio, and <\/span>the Sound Mind Studio Best Pitch Award<\/span> was given to project <\/span>\u201cGon\u00e2ve\u201d<\/span><\/strong> directed by R\u00f3\u017ca Duda and Micha\u0142 Soja and produced by Krakow Film Klaster. <\/span><\/p>\n

KFF Industry partner and founder of the Special Mention \u2013 Audiovisual Technology Centre (CeTA)<\/strong> – is a unique space where technology, culture and art combine, intersect and complete one another. Synergy of those elements and genius loci of the place foster creative filmmakers who can develop here their original ideas. CeTA is a complex place that allows for all stages of professional film and television production to be completed. Both established and debuting filmmakers can find here support and additionally take part in numerous workshops.<\/p>\n

Another award founder and KFF Industry partner is Sound Mind Studio \u2013 sound postproduction studio<\/strong> founded by Micha\u0142 Fojcik, a recognised sound director, member of Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE), who worked on films like: \u201cGods”, \u201cThe Red Spider”, \u201cThe Art of Loving\u201d and \u201cThe Coldest Game\u201d.<\/p>\n

Animated in Poland<\/strong> pitch had this year its eighth edition. The first pitch took place in May 2013, during the 53th Krakow Film Festival, in cooperation with Shortcut magazine. Two of the films presented during the last year’s edition were \u201cPapa\u201d by Maryia Yakimovich and \u201cMay You Never Have to Come Back Here\u201d by Anastazja Naumenko, which have just begun their festival journey. Three<\/span> Doc Lab Poland<\/span><\/strong> awards and seven special mentions were given to the best Docs to Start and Docs to Go! presentations. In the Docs to Start session<\/span> HBO Award <\/span><\/strong>–<\/span> 10\u00a0000 PLN for the film production – went to the project \u201cDebut\u201d<\/strong> directed by Aleksandra Maciejczyk, prod. Marta Gmosi\u0144ska (Lava Films);<\/span> ColorOffOn<\/span> Award <\/span><\/strong>\u2013 25\u00a0000 PLN voucher for image postproduction \u2013 was given to the project \u201cDon’t Mess with Gienek\u201d<\/strong> directed by Grzegorz Szczepaniak, prod. Joanna Popowicz WF Anagram. Other films awarded in this section were: \u201eGypsy Gadji\u201d<\/strong> directed by Dasa Raimanova, prod. Rafa\u0142\u00a0Sakowski (Story Vehicle) – <\/span>DOK Leipzig Special Mention<\/span> \u2013 invitation to Co Pro Meetings in Leipzig; \u201cEasy Rider Behind the Iron Curtain\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Andrzej Mi\u0119kus, prod. Olga Bieniek (FilmIcon) –<\/span> FIPA\u00a0DOC\u00a0Special Mention <\/span>\u2013 invitation to pitch the project at FIPA\u00a0DOC\u00a0in Biarritz; \u201cWhen the Harmattan Blows\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Edyta Wr\u00f3blewska, prod. Marta Du\u017cbabel (With Passion Production) –<\/span> Polish Docs Pro Special Mention<\/span> \u2013 \u00a0active support for the project’s international promotion and invitation to one of the key international documentary industry events; \u201cNina Gets Married\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Andrzej Szypulski, prod. Anna Reichel (Fine Day Promotion) –<\/span> W\u0142adys\u0142aw \u015alesicki Film Foundation Special Mention<\/strong> – <\/span>invitation to key European documentary industry event.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
