The selected projects include films about family relations, spirituality, Italian gangs, a search for identity, abortion, the realities of life in an authoritarian state and the coronavirus pandemic. Their creators are renowned filmmakers who have won awards all over the world, backed up by experienced producers. The selection includes such documentaries as\u00a0Blix\u00a0<\/strong>by Greta Stocklassa, produced by Radovan S\u00edbrt, who was also the producer of the film\u00a0Touch Me Not<\/strong>\u00a0by Adina Pintilie, which won the Golden Bear in 2018. Similarly, the producer of\u00a0Velvet Generation<\/strong>, directed by Ivana Hucikova, is Jakub Viktorin from nutprodukcia \u2013 the company that co-produced Agnieszka Holland’s\u00a0Spoor<\/strong>. Another selected project, Tommy Gulliksen’s\u00a0Sound of Ice<\/strong>, was produced by Norwegian producer Thomas Robsahm of Oslo Pictures, co-creator of such high profile films as Joachim Trier’s\u00a0Louder Than Bombs<\/strong>, starring Isabelle Huppert, and last year’s European Film Award nominee\u00a0Hope\u00a0<\/strong>by Maria S\u00f8dahl, starring Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd. This year’s CEDOC Market selection is comprised of 12 Polish and 14 foreign projects.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We received very diverse and extremely interesting projects. Some of them raise very hot topics, such as <\/em>\u20185 Pills Away\u2019<\/strong> by Karolina Domagalska (prod. Anna Styli\u0144ska \u2013 My Way Studio) about four women running the Abortion Dream support group who overnight become the leaders of a revolution. Another example is <\/em>\u2018Shaman vs Putin\u2019<\/strong>, directed by Beata Bubenec and Mikhail Bashkirov (prod. Nicola\u00ef Iarochenko \u2013 Les Steppes Productions), about the Yakut shaman Alexander Gabyshev\u2019s trek across Russia on foot to expel Vladimir Putin \u2013 the \u2018Demon\u2019 \u2013 from society. The selection also includes draft documentaries on a risky experiment undertaken together by a seemingly happy couple <\/em>(\u2018Trust Me\u2019<\/strong>, dir. Joanna Ratajczak, prod. Stanis\u0142aw Zaborowski, Oliver Stoltz \u2013 Silver Frame), or on a group of young men giving up their everyday lives to join the Dominican novitiate (<\/em>\u2018The Novice\u2019<\/strong>, dir. \u0141ukasz Wo\u015b, prod. Anna Gawlita \u2013 Kijora Film), or an unusual story about a deaf girl who starts working as a taxi driver in Moscow to take her closer to her dream of becoming a professional handball player (<\/em>\u2018Don’t Cut Me Off\u2019<\/strong>, dir. Marina Potapova, prod.
