\n<\/strong>INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Having seen all the competition films, the International Documentary Competition Jury<\/strong><\/u> of the 52nd Krakow Film Festival consisting of: Jacek B\u0142awut – the chairman (Poland), Luciano Barisone (Switzerland), Hedva Goldschmidt (Israel), Truls Lie (Norway), Peter Torbiörnsson (Sweden) have decided to award:<\/p>\n

GOLDEN HORN for the Director of the Best Film<\/span><\/b> –<\/span>Peter Gerdehag<\/span><\/b>,<\/span>the director of <\/span>WOMEN WITH COWS<\/span><\/b>(Sweden), <\/span>which depicts the spirit of love and will of the protagonist, who celebrates life and lives in harmony with nature. The visual poetic treatment of director and cinematographer Peter Gerdehag is exquisite in his love for and loyalty to a vision.<\/span><\/p>\n

SILVER HORN <\/span><\/b><\/font><\/b>for the Director of the Best Medium-Length Documentary<\/span><\/font><\/strong> – Ida Grøn<\/strong>, the director of THE KID AND THE CLOWN<\/strong> (Denmark), d<\/span>epicting children’s fight for life and how the clown consumed their fear, which in itself is stronger than cinema.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/font>SILVER HORN<\/span><\/b> for the Director of the Best Feature-Length Documentary<\/b> – <\/span>David Fisher<\/span><\/b>,<\/span> the director of <\/span>SIX MILLION AND ONE<\/span><\/b> (Israel\/Germany\/Austria), which <\/span>is an exemplary portrayal of what happens to the children of a Holocaust victim who visits the places from his past. The story of denial.<\/span><\/p>\n

SPECIAL MENTION:
\n<\/span><\/b>THIS MAN IS A MULTI-LAYERED CAKE <\/span><\/b>directed by <\/span>Patricia Mortagne <\/span><\/b>(France).<\/p>\n

<\/span>THE AWARD OF THE POLISH SOCIETY OF CINEMATOGRAPHERS (PSC) <\/span><\/b>for the best cinematography in the documentary film<\/span><\/strong>, founded by Studio Produkcyjne ORKA – <\/span>Wojciech Staro\u0144<\/span><\/b> (Poland) for cinematography to <\/span>ENTANGLED –<\/span><\/b> because it depicts of what it is like for the two protagonists to be stuck in their obsessions while wandering through the labyrinth of human passions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) Jury<\/span><\/u><\/b> at the 52nd Krakow Film Festival, consisting of: <\/span>Katia Bayer (Belgium), Giovanni Ottone (Italy), Miros\u0142aw Przylipiak (Poland), <\/span>have decided unanimously to award the film <\/span>THE<\/span><\/b> FLAT<\/b> directed by <\/span>Arnon Goldfinger <\/span><\/b>(Israel, Germany)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The Student Jury for Documentary Competition<\/span><\/u><\/b> consisting of: <\/span>Paulina Haratyk, Karolina Stankiewicz and Krzysztof Siwo\u0144<\/span> have decided to award the film MOTHERLAND OR DEATH <\/b>directed by Vitaly Mansky<\/b> (Russia)- for depicting the reality and temperament of Cuba and its residents in accordance with Russian spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nINTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Having seen all the competition films, the International Short Film Competition Jury<\/u><\/strong> of the 52nd Krakow Film Festival consisting of: Marcel \u0141ozi\u0144ski– the chairman (Poland), <\/span>Oxana Cherkasova (Russia<\/span>), <\/span>Alessandro Marcionni<\/span> (Switzerland), Torene Svitil (USA), Kaveh Tehrani (Norway) have decided to award the following prizes:<\/span><\/p>\n

GOLDEN DRAGON <\/span><\/b>for the Director of the Best Film<\/span><\/strong> <\/span>– Alex Lora<\/b>, the director of ODYSSEUS’ GAMBIT <\/b>(USA\/Spain) –<\/span> for showing the problem of the Third World in all its complexity.<\/span><\/p>\n

SILVER DRAGO<\/span><\/b>N for the Director of the Best Documentary Film<\/span><\/strong> <\/span>– Marius Iacob<\/b>, the director of 24 BUCKETS, 7 MICE, 18 YEARS<\/b> (Romania) – <\/span>for not agreeing with the violations of intimacy of the people living on the margins of ordinary life.<\/span><\/p>\n

SILVER DRAGON<\/span><\/b> for the Director of the Best Animated Film<\/strong> – <\/span>Ü<\/span><\/b>lo Pikkov<\/span><\/b>, the director of BODY MEMORY<\/b> (Estonia) – <\/span>for exceptionally original and yet metaphorical portrayal of Holocaust.<\/p>\n

<\/span>SILVER DRAGON <\/span><\/b>for the Director of the Best Short Fiction Film<\/span><\/strong> – <\/span>Attila Till<\/span><\/b>, the director of BEAST<\/b> (Hungary) – <\/span>for the ability to portray a brutal situation with the courage that is rarely seen in cinema.<\/span><\/p>\n

SPECIAL MENTION<\/span><\/b>:<\/span>
\nFREESTYLE LIFE<\/span><\/b>, directed by Adam Palenta<\/b> (Poland) – <\/span>for his sensitivity and respect for the protagonists and in dealing with such a delicate subject.<\/p>\n

<\/span>PRIX EFA<\/span><\/b><\/u> <\/span><\/b>for the Best European Film<\/span><\/strong> (nomination to the European Film Award 2012 in the short film category) <\/span>for VILLA ANTROPOFF<\/b>, directed by Vladimir Leschiov <\/b>and Kaspar Jancis <\/b>(Latvia\/Estonia)<\/span><\/p>\n

The FICC (International Federation of Film Societies) Jury<\/span><\/u><\/b> at the 52nd Krakow Film Festival, consisting of: Veit Geldner (Germany), Sankar Kumar Pal (India), Szymon Stemplewski (Poland) <\/span>has decided to give the Don Quichote Award<\/b> for the film <\/span>TUBA ATLANTIC<\/span><\/b>,<\/span>directed by<\/span> Hallvar Witzø <\/span><\/b>(Norway), which is not a black comedy, but a magical surrealistic trip around what’s really essential for us: are we able to keep fighting, able to trust, to forgive, to listen to each other?<\/p>\n

The Student Jury for Short Film Competition<\/span><\/u><\/b> consisting of: <\/span>Lucyna Adamska, Mateusz Góra and Artur Zaborski has decided to award the film THE CHRONICLE OF OLDRICH S.<\/b> directed by Rudolf Šmid <\/b>(Czech Republic) for his incredible view of history, filled with humour and irony, and for the vividness of the image that proves his limitless imagination.<\/span><\/p>\n
