Together with “Life in a Day”, directed by Kevin Macdonald, we will screen another Ridley Scott\u2019s production. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Today<\/strong> begins the 51st Krakow Film Festival. We have prepared for you a surprise for the opening ceremony: together with Life in a Day<\/i>,directed by Kevin Macdonald, we will screen another Ridley Scott’s production The Foundling<\/i>, a short costume film in 3D.
\n<\/span><\/b>
\nThe film is set in the 30’s of the last century, in a travelling circus. One day, at the door of a caravan, the circus troupe finds an unusual infant… The Foundling<\/i> (dir. Barney Cokeliss) was produced by Ridley Scott Associates in cooperation with Phillips as a continuation of the “Parallel Lines” project. This project included five promotional films made by five directors from Scott’s company, in five different conventions but with the same, spare soundtrack. The campaign won many awards at advertising festivals, including Cannes Lion Grand Prix or Gold Film Craft Lion for special effects. The Foundling <\/i>was the 6th<\/sup> film in the project, but the first to be produced in 3D, shot in collaboration with the team from James Cameron’s Avatar<\/i>.

\n– This year, the Festival Opening is a proper entering in the next 50 years of our event<\/em> – says Krzysztof Gierat, Festival director – We have chosen two films produced by Ridley Scott, as they perfectly illustrate the changes in contemporary cinema. Life in a Day, a film coproduced with Internet users, reverses the roles of the audience and the director, and it multiplies the latter. The Foundling uses the most recent 3D technology, which develops so fast that it is no longer limited to the screening rooms.<\/em><\/p>\n
