{"id":4156,"date":"2009-10-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-11T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.krakowfilmfestival.pl\/en\/rabbits-chances-for-oscar\/"},"modified":"2009-10-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2009-10-11T22:00:00","slug":"rabbits-chances-for-oscar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.krakowfilmfestival.pl\/en\/rabbits-chances-for-oscar\/","title":{"rendered":"RABBIT&#8217;S CHANCES FOR OSCAR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Awarded at 49th KFF &#8220;Rabbit a la Berlin&#8221; directed by Bartek Konopka shortlisted for 2009 Oscars in the short documentary film category.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The winner of Golden Hobby-Horse 2009 is competing with 7 others titles for Oscar nomination.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/polishdocs.pl\/en\/films\/369\/\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">&quot;Rabbit a la Berlin&quot;<\/span><\/a> is a remarkable story of the Berlin Wall presented from the perspective of rabbits living in this city, which was applauded both by jury and public of 49th Krakow Film festival. In 1961 the animals were trapped in the green belt dividing East Berlin from the western part of the city. They had stayed there until the Wall came down in 1989 when the rabbits could participate in historic events that followed. Thus, Berlin&rsquo;s rabbits shared the fate of the citizens of Eastern Germany who, isolated from the world, led their seemingly safe and peaceful existence under the scrutiny of communist authorities.<\/p>\n<p>During the last Festival work of Anna Wydra, the producer of the film, has been appreciated too. She was honoured with the award for best producer of documentary and short Polish films.
