A Film on Pilch, <\/span><\/i>dir. Adam Lewandowski<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In this year’s selection, Krakow is particularly strongly represented through its history and figures connected with it. For example, in the film portraits of two outstanding writers: Stanis\u0142aw Lem and Jerzy Pilch, who, for the larger part of their lives, also professional lives, were connected with Krakow. <\/span>“Autor Solaris”<\/b> (<\/span>Author Solaris<\/span><\/i>) by Borys Lankosz is a creative documentary film in which the film-makers, together with eminent Lemologists, historians and the writer’s close ones approach the solution to the mysteries and paradoxes in Lem’s life. Adam Lewandowski in <\/span>“Film o Pilchu”<\/b> (<\/span>A Film on Pilch<\/span><\/i>) tells a fascinating story about one of the greatest contemporary writers, woven out of the voices of his friends and the statements by the protagonist himself.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Exodus<\/em>, dir. Tristan Anderson<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The world of the theatre in Krakow is drawn in three other documentary films.<\/span> “Exodus” <\/b>(dir. Tristan Anderson, Paulina Bondaronek) makes the audience familiar with the unexpected and dramatic results of the staging of the play “Neomonachomachia” by the KTO Theatre. The film <\/span>“Ostatnie diamenty” <\/b>(<\/span>Last Diamonds<\/span><\/i>)<\/span> by Marian Przybylski is a portrait of the Janicki brothers, who are extremely colourful and well-known in the community of Krakow actors of Tadeusz Kantor’s theatre Cricot 2. Edyta Wr\u00f3blewska in the documentary film <\/span>“<\/b>Zygmunt H\u00fcbner – gra z rzeczywisto\u015bci\u0105”<\/b> (<\/span>Zygmunt H\u00fcbner \u2013 Plays with the Reality<\/span><\/i>) presents the figure of the most outstanding man of the theatre, the director of National Stary Theatre in Krakow in the gloomy times of Polish People’s Republic, who, through his activities, carried out the social and civic mission in an extremely clear way.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n How to Destroy Time Machines<\/em>, dir. Jacek Piotr B\u0142awut<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The documentary film <\/span>“How to Destroy Time Machines”<\/b> by Jacek Piotr B\u0142awut is a portrait of a great enthusiast, an American artist who dedicated his entire life to music experiments, recording, manipulating and composing pieces of music from unusual or seemingly ordinary sound phenomena. Another story about a great passion, but also about overcoming one’s weaknesses is the film <\/span>“Raz dwa zero”<\/b> (<\/span>One Two Zero<\/span><\/i>) by Anna Pawluczuk, the nine-year-old protagonist of which takes part in the competitive rhythmic gymnastics. In turn, the protagonist of the documentary film <\/span>“XXXLove”<\/b> by Joanna Frydrych, by tirelessly engaging in helping people whose obesity ruined their intimate lives, distances himself from his own family and neglects his private life.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The film <\/span>“Trzy siostry”<\/b> (<\/span>Three Sisters<\/span><\/i>) by Dariusz Kowalski is a portrait of sisters who live in a Gypsy community in Limanowa, filled with Gypsy music, but it is also a story about the sense of alienation and the search for one’s identity. The protagonists of the documentary film by Micha\u0142 Tkaczy\u0144ski – <\/span>“I tak wszystko widzia\u0142am\u2026<\/b>” (<\/span>But I Saw It All Anyway\u2026)<\/span><\/i> are also three women, though they tell a completely different story. It is a film about the fates of Polish women of Jewish origin, who experienced the hell of the World War II and the Holocaust prepared for them by the German Nazis. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n On the list, there are also animated films. <\/span>“Ostatni pok\u00f3j” <\/b>(<\/span>The Last Room<\/span><\/i>) (dir. Marta Chy\u0142a-Janicka) is <\/span>a story of a married couple who give a potential buyer a tour of their flat, which is for <\/span>sale. In the last room, the conversation takes an unexpected turn, revealing the seemingness of communication between people. In turn, the animated film by Tymon Albrzykowski, <\/span>\u201cZdarzenie Plastyczne\u201d<\/b> (<\/span>Ink meets blank<\/span><\/i>)<\/b>, made using the non-camera technique, directly on cinematograph film, is an abstract metamorphosis of geometric shapes, illustrated by extremely evocative music. The only feature film in the <\/span>P<\/span>anorama is<\/span> “Fusy”<\/b> (<\/span>Dregs<\/span><\/i>) by Konrad K\u0105dziela – a tricky story about a television fortune teller who successfully advises other people, at the same time experiencing many failures in her private life. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The programme of Panorama of the Polish Film:<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Author Solaris,” <\/b>dir.
