Its programme encompasses project and studio presentations, workshops, and individual one-on-one meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the focal points of this year&#8217;s edition is going to be a pitching session, i.e. a presentation of Polish animated short films in the final stages of production. Each project will be introduced by its director and\/or producer before an international panel of film industry experts, including distributors, sales agents, festival programmers, and representatives of film institutions. The event offers filmmakers a genuine opportunity to launch international festival distribution and to gain a foothold in the global animation market. This year, the Animated in Poland pitching session is going to feature nine projects \u2013 from student works all the way to productions from professional studios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SELECTED PROJECTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong><em>Garden Weeds<\/em><\/strong>, dir. Laura Pietras, prod. Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong><em>Sugar Boys<\/em><\/strong>, dir. Jakub Siedlecki, prod. Letko<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong><em>To You Who Are Alive,<\/em><\/strong> dir. Zuzanna Szor, prod. WJTeam<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong><em>Momster<\/em><\/strong>, dir. Anna B\u0142aszczyk, prod. Animoon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong><em>Sauna<\/em><\/strong>, dir. Maria Waszczyszyn, prod. Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krak\u00f3w<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong><em> Spotlight<\/em><\/strong>, dir. Anna Walczak, prod. Munk Studio \u2013 SFP, Animoon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong><em>Picasso\u2019s Mermaid,<\/em><\/strong> dir. Karolina Go\u0142\u0119biowska, prod. Fundacja Las Sztuki<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong><em>Death in a Little House<\/em><\/strong>, dir. Michalina Musialik, prod. Yellow Tapir Films<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The creators of the selected projects will have the opportunity to participate in individual meetings with, among others, festival selectors, sales agents, distributors, and commissioning editors from TV broadcasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The presentations will be preceded by consultations and a workshop on pitching techniques, led by Maarten van Gageldonk \u2013 The Head of Program for Kaboom Animation Festival, the largest animation festival in the Netherlands. He also teaches in the Master of Animation at the Master Institute of Visual Cultures (MIVC) in Den Bosch. In recent years he co-edited the book Animation and Memory (2020), published by Palgrave Macmillan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pitching session will take place on 2 June in Krak\u00f3w.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Partners of the Animated in Poland event include Sound Mind, XANF, No Problemo Music, and Crew United. As in previous years, one of the projects will receive a voucher for 10 days of sound post-production at Sound Mind, a studio run by Micha\u0142 Fojcik. For the first time this year, an award will also be presented by XANF, in the form of a voucher for visual effects (VFX) post-production services, whilst No Problemo Music will provide a licence for unlimited use of music from the Audio Network library in both the winning film itself and its promotional materials.
