The selection process for projects from around the world for the CEDOC Market and for Ukrainian projects to be included in this year’s edition of DOC LAB POLAND has now concluded. This year saw a record number of submissions, with over 130 projects from around the world.
This year’s CEDOC – the Central European Documentary Co-Production Market, Poland’s largest documentary co-production market for producers seeking partners from Europe and around the world – will host 32 documentary projects. The documentaries submitted from Poland, amongst others, have been joined by projects from Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the USA and Canada. The market’s experts will include experienced producers as well as sales agents, festival representatives, film funds and broadcasters.
CEDOC Market is organised by the Władysław Ślesicki Film Foundation in collaboration with KFF Industry during the Krakow Film Festival, and aims to enable documentary producers to establish contacts with partners in other countries, thereby helping them to bring their films to fruition. This year marks the eleventh edition of the event.
This year, Poland’s largest programme for documentary filmmakers is once again taking place under the banner of DOC LAB POLAND & UKRAINE. Thanks to funding from the Polish Film Institute, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and the Mieroszewski Institute, we are able to support and facilitate the participation of six projects from Ukraine. Three of them will feature at CEDOC Market, two at Doc Lab Start, and one at Doc Lab Go.
Among the projects selected for CEDOC Market are film proposals from all over the world. Their creators follow the trail of historical events, tackle current issues or explore the personal stories of ordinary – yet extraordinary – people. As we know, life writes the best scripts, and documentary filmmakers are excellent chroniclers of everyday life.
