Ethnographical Museum

Poland1978animated8'Retrospektywa Witolda Giersza (2017)

Witold Giersz often devotes his films to nature, an excellent example being Fire (1975) where this natural disaster threatens our environment. In "Ethnographical Museum", the source of danger is humans who cut an impressive forest to develop a modern housing estate in its place. When it is impossible to physically destroy one of the huts, it is, out of necessity, turned into a “monument” and an occasional medal is awarded for it. Don’t we find it familiar?
