There are over 1500 inmates in this Belorussian facility. Eleven of them signed up for a theatrical performance prepared under the supervision of prison cameras. During rehearsals, volunteers may forget about the families they left at home and their criminal past and incarceration for a while. In their lives, everything is the eponymous debut - the first conviction, the first performance and the first leave. In spite of difficult stories and tough conditions, the director shows warm portraits of the characters.

She studied at the Belarussian State Theatre and Art Institute and the High School of Advertising. Since 2008, she has worked for television as a director of historical, entertainment and science programmes. Her debut, "Crossroads" (2014), has won acclaim at festivals and was awarded at the Warsaw Film Festival.
