Framing Freedom

Poland2017documentary79'Polska panorama (2018)

A biography of the most famous Polish art curator, Anda Rottenberg. Her journey from a girl growing up in the provinces in the gloomy 1940s and 1950s to the position of one of the most influential figures in the art world was presented against the backdrop of Poland’s latest history. The absurdities of Poland under communism, the political system transformation and the dilemmas of contemporary art fill the narrative of the main character. Is censorship the only dimension of art enslavement? The documentary shows the situation of Polish artists in the context of social and political changes.
