A documentary about fascination with a starry sky that can unite people and help them overcome social barriers. Nowhere else on Earth is the universe so well visible as over the Atacama desert in Chile, the silent protagonist of “El Cielo”. The film director and poet, Alison McAlpine, presents science and spirituality as two complementing ends of one broad spectrum of cognition. The viewers will discover subtle references to the cinema of Andrzej Kondratiuk and Patricio Guzmán in her film.
