Fat Kathy

The relationship that Varsovians have with clams is similar to the one that once joined canaries and miners. Both species can sense danger sooner than humans because they are much more sensitive as regards many aspects. Eight completely inconspicuous molluscs bear the responsibility for the health or even lives of hundreds of thousands of the city residents. It may seem that Julia Pelka, a Polish director, describes the complexities of the capital’s water supply system only, but in fact she depicts the subtle relationship between nature, technology and humanity employing both sensitivity and a warm sense of humour.
