Fight, Love and Work

Poland2009animated9'Retrospektywa Piotra Dumały (2021)

People appear in the rippling field of wheat. In this unique animated ballet one can recognize figures from the paintings by Vincent van Gogh, Francisco de Goya, Honoré Daumier and Jean-François Millet. Pictures in a loop are accompanied by expressive music of an excellent Romanian composer, Alexandr Bǎlǎnescu. In this striking impression Dumała combined his technique of plasterboard plates with pastel drawings and computer animation. The premiere took place at the monumental wall of the Four Denominations District during the 9th New Horizons Film Festival in Wrocław, crowning the author’s retrospective.
