Khoniyar's Children

The eponymous children are two brothers and two sisters – now four elderly people who never got married or started their own families. This does not mean, however, that they are lonely – they create an exceptional community marked by mutual closeness but also a sense of separateness. All they have is each other, a modest house and some pets. In the harsh surroundings of western Iran, in a tiny village, they are a local peculiarity. According to the tradition of the Quran, neighbours and locals perceive them as the cursed.
