The Street
Canada | 1976 | animated | 11 min. Caroline Leaf Retrospective
When a grandma begins to die and every day can be her last one, the only thing you can do is wait. The slow process of passing away is observed by her grandson who does not understand much yet. He does not know why he has to kiss his grandma good night every day when she does not even recognise him or why the ring she will pass on to him for his future wife is valuable. An Oscar nominee, “The Street” is a story about the preparation for the demise of close family members and rituals related to death.
