Sand or Peter and the Wolf
Canada | 1969 | animated | 10 min. Caroline Leaf Retrospective
Piotruś lives in harmony with his friends: a cat, a small bird and a little duck. Their calm life together is disturbed by the sudden appearance of a wolf. The boy and the animals will have to unite forces to chase the beast away and do not let it prey on them. The film is an animated variation on Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf”, the famous musical fairy tale about overcoming one’s own fears and mutual assistance, and the first film made by Caroline Leaf using sand.
