CEDOC Market held during the KFF Industry at the Krakow Film Festiwal is now accepting the applications. The documentary producers from all around the world who are looking for new international partners for their projects may apply. Event takes place in June and the deadline for submissions is in the end of March.
The CENTRAL EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY COPRODUCTION MARKET (CEDOC), organized by DOC LAB POLAND & KFF Industry, is held every year in the beginning of June during the Krakow Film Festival in Poland. Building on its Central European location, CEDOC nurtures a cooperation between East and West, North and South with a special focus on Central European projects and talents. For many projects, CEDOC is the first platform to enter the international market. We know how to recognize the potential even in projects at early stages of development and are not afraid to take risks. We discover talents.
Taking part in CEDOC Market, situated in the historical city of Krakow, affords plenty of valuable opportunities to develop projects and build new professional alliances, especially between producers coming from different countries. Particularly for projects aiming at the international market, the beginning (or development stage) is a difficult and vulnerable moment. At CEDOC Market talented filmmakers present their projects to the international film community, raise awareness, receive feedback and discuss their projects with experts in an intimate, safe and creative atmosphere.
For producers from outside the region CEDOC is the best place to find partners and financing in Central European countries for their own projects and to get in touch with cultural institutions, regional funds, broadcasters and film institutes from Poland and the region.
Every year we select ca. 25 projects – creative documentary films in development and early stage of production with a minimum running time of 52 min length – coming from different countries and cultures. We don’t require any financing in place nor confirmed sources of financing.
Structure: public pitching and pre-booked one-on-one meetings. Producers are encouraged to pitch their projects to each other, in order to stimulate bilateral collaborations.
Attending DOC LAB POLAND’s pitchings and one-on-ones offers the unique opportunity to gain insights into current Polish documentary production. It is the best place to start co-operations with the most interesting and promising Polish projects.
Last but not least, to relax from hard work and plenty of official meetings, CEDOC together with Krakow Film Festival invites you to view the most interesting documentaries selected for the festival. Of course you may also enjoy great concerts, market and festival parties and events. “Night at Kazimierz” (party in the old Jewish district of Krakow). The “Vistula Cruise Party”, or a visit to Wieliczka Salt Mine (over 300 meters deep, this mine dates back from the 13th century). Industry Party inviting you to dance till the early morning hours.
HOW TO APPLY?
There are two ways of applying for CEDOC Market:
1. If you apply with a project, we want to learn more about the relevance and artistic value of your concept. Its international potential and your track record as a producer. We accept documentary projects that are at least 50-minutes in length.
2. If you don’t have a project to share, but you are looking for one, let us help you with booking one-on-one meetings with CEDOC MARKET and DOCS TO START project teams.
*In both cases, producers will be able to take part in the whole CEDOC Market. Meet industry professionals and book one-on-one meetings with DOCS TO START project teams.
CONDITIONS:
Applying for CEDOC Market is free. The participation cost for the producer with a project is 100 EUR, unless you apply in the early bird deadline: 17th of March 2023. For early bird applications the fee is 50 EUR. The final deadline for applications is March 31st 2023.
We offer all participating producers a KFF Industry accreditation (entitling the holder to access all Industry events and Official Festival Screening programme) and possibility to attend all the networking events.
