In this story, maternal love is transformed from the ideal into a toxic relationship. Mother and Son complement each other, sometimes she protects him from danger, then he takes care of her. Once Mother is an adult, later she becomes a little girl – then the child must assume the function of a guardian. The protagonists’ height and age, which smoothly change, indicate the roles they assume interchangeably. Yet, the symbiosis is disturbed when a woman appears in Son’s life. Mother does not want to allow her child to grow up at all…

Polish film director, 2D animator and illustrator. She studied animation at the Film School in Łódź and at the Babelsberg Film University. Her debut film ‘O Mother!’ (2017) was screened at numerous festivals around the world and won numerous awards. Her next film, ‘Na zdrowie!’ (2018), received, among others, a special mention at the 68th Berlinale and a special mention at AnimaFest in Zagreb. Her films have been screened at festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, Annecy, Krakow Film Festival, Melbourne IFF, Ottawa IAF, Stuttgart, BOGOSHORTS. She has participated in artist residencies at Fontevraud and TAIS in Toronto.
