The plant is in operation day and night. Men and women are working hard performing routine activities at a place that has long been past its prime. The sight of enormous machines, hot furnaces and production lines makes the efforts of the workers engaged in their mundane activities even greater. In this film essay without words, sound and colour emphasise the exceptionality of yet another place in the Russian provinces filmed by Loznitsa, where time passes slowly and the characters seem to be engulfed in lethargy.
