The film combines, using double exposure, static takes of contemporary Sarajevo and portrait photographs of city defenders of 1992. The photographs taken during the siege by Milomir Kovačević make subtle reflections on the backdrop of traffic and everyday bustling. In the black and white compositions, the faces of soldiers seem to emerge from the calm landscape of the city as a disturbing memory of the Serbian-Bosnian conflict in which each street or public utility building would become a battle arena.
