Kyiv Soloists

Norway, Ukraine, The Netherlands2025documentary87'DocFilmMusic Competition

When the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, musicians from the Kyiv Orchestra had just set off on a tour of Italy. They became refugees overnight but did not stop performing. With an altered musical programme, they embarked on a tour of Europe to express their opposition to Russian barbarism and manifest solidarity with their countrymen. The film is a recording of changing emotions, difficult dilemmas and diverse human fates in the first months of the war. Each character must now redefine his or her role as an artist and citizen.
