A Quiet Storm
Canada2025documentary29'Short Film Competition
Maïto is 14 years old and has a talent that allows him to move into a world beyond his everyday limitations. Raised in a home where the needs of his disabled sister were always at the forefront, he had to find his own way to draw attention to himself. He can express himself in Krump, a dance in which he can use movement to convey his emotions and relieve stress. It is also an opportunity for him to communicate better and deepen his bond with his deaf sister. ‘Silent Storm’ proves that words are not necessary to build valuable relationships.

I'm Ben, a Parisian-born, Montreal-based explorer. My journey began as an actor and photographer in Paris, discovering storytelling's power. I transitioned to directing documentaries and traveled globally, developing projects for film and advertising. I've directed three award-winning short films, now focusing on long-form narratives. My work is personal, telling intimate human stories, often through movement. Dance, passed from my mother to my daughter, led me to Krump, where every movement carries raw emotion. I also produce through Skeptic Films, fostering creative collaboration.
