There more phenomena than are dreamt of by pop culture scholars, such as the musical ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and then its subsequent, even more astonishing, big screen incarnation. Following the eccentric show’s success in London and New York, Jim Sharman made a film that first flopped, then acquired a cult status, and eventually conquered the box office. On the 50th anniversary of its premiere, this documentary tells the bravura story of the making of and the entire fan base of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’, which continues to attract a multitude of loyal followers.
