Beyond Eden
United Kingdom, USA2025documentary25'Short Film Competition
In the 1970s, in the atmosphere of radical social changes, the Women’s Land movement was born. Lesbians in the United States were leaving cities to create enclaves in the middle of nowhere, where they could live, work and build a new, free world, solely in the company of other women. For some, it was an act of emancipation; for others – a necessity to survive in the world that did not accept their existence. Some of them never left the place. After 50 years, some women return to the place that was to become their new Eden to see if the old ideas have stood the test of time.
