Reak is an Indonesian trance ritual. Its participants wish to connect with ancestral spirits and the energy of the Cosmos through music and ecstatic dance. The protagonist is the young leader of Juarta Putra, a band specialising in shamanic sounds. He is about to embark on his first foreign tour, which will start at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark. However, the musician is experiencing various dilemmas and anxiety, also related to his personal history. Is it possible that what is a profound spiritual experience for performers from West Java can become the same for representatives of other cultures?

He has made several international films as director, producer and cinematographer since 2002. His drive is curiosity and filmmaking is his way of experiencing and coming to know the World. His dedication and empathy is clearly expressed in his films. His films have been shown at festivals all around the world and have been broadcasted in countless countries. He is renowned for such films as 'Kidd Life', 'A Kind of Paradise', 'Murder', 'Ai Weiwei – The Fake Case', which in 2013 was nominated in IDFA’s “Feature Length Competition”, in Berlin 2014 at Cinema for Peace Awards and won the Danish Film Critics Award in 2014.
