Dance with Me, Dad
Poland2025documentary28'National Competition
The film documents an adult daughter’s attempt to get closer to her emotionally unavailable father. Although they live under the same roof, they are separated by a wall of silence preventing them from understanding each other. Their relationship reflects a broader conflict between two generations – the older one, unable to speak honestly about their feelings, and the younger one, which needs open dialogue. The director can see her own fears in her father and tries to find a way to help him to deal with difficult emotions. When conversations fail to produce the desired results, an impulse arises – an invitation to take part in a dance class together.
