The Crooked Heads
Poland2025animated8'National Competition
In this Polish residential district, drawn with a black line, rough and heavy with smoke coming out of the chimneys, which consumes everything like a black hole. A young boy, trying to understand his brother and come to terms with his absence, enters the brutal reality of the neighbourhood. An animation about growing up in the world of violence, silence and an unresolved past. Details, greyness and a stifling atmosphere create the terrifying portrait of everyday life, full of aggression, unpaid debts and unsettled scores.
