A young woman is lying on the tracks, while a train can be heard approaching from a distance. At the last moment, she jumps up and the train passes her within a hair’s breadth. This is the dream that the patient tells her therapist. The woman is staying at a rehabilitation centre, where she is in animal-assisted therapy. As her treatment progresses, the patient delves deeper and deeper into the darker regions of her past and, under the doctor’s supervision, slowly uncovers further layers of trauma. Trust and intimacy are an essential but very fragile part of this process.
