Do Painters Die Elsewhere [Polish audio description]
Poland2025documentary70'PL audio description
For Bolesław Gasiński, life and art have been inextricably interwoven. The house in Laski, which he built himself, was also like that: picturesque, increasingly ‘wild’ and open to people and animals. The artist left behind not only paintings in a variety of styles but also abundant audio and video materials. Along with the recollections of people close to him, they constitute the main fabric of this documentary. They form an impressionistic, visually sophisticated portrait of an outsider, whose most difficult life experience was confronting the terminal illness of his beloved wife.
