‘Architecture is like music - it must have a rhythm’, says the film’s eponymous character Florian Yuriev, an architect, painter, violin maker and all-round artist. The investors who want to build a shopping mall on the site of his legendary building are of a different opinion. The Flying Saucer is one of the most famous works of 90-year-old Yuriev, which has become part of Kiev’s architecture. However, modern projects are often dictated by economic conditions, so the construction of the saucer may soon be altered, despite the objections of its creator.
