When at the Venice Biennale in 2019 Roman Stańczak showed an aircraft turned inside out, some saw it as a reference to the Smolensk air crash. But Stańczak, who had created critical art for many years, planned this installation a long time ago and in a different political context. Capturing the creation process of ‘Flight’ and presenting his earlier works, the film authors portray the artist who finally ‘rose from the dead’ after many years of absence. The picture is also a story of the psychological costs of creating uncompromising art.
