KFF INDUSTRY: DOC LAB POLAND 2019 projects | The CO-PRODUCTION MARKET CALL

We are happy to announce the participant’s names of the 5th edition of DOC LAB POLAND – the biggest Polish pitching and consulting program for professional documentary filmmakers organized in co-operation with the Krakow Film Festival. The application deadline to submit projects to the international documentary co- production market is the 10th of April.

 

DOC LAB POLAND 2019 PARTICIPANTS

 

The program is divided into two sections: DOC LAB START designed for projects in development stage or in the first stage of production and DOC LAB GO for projects that are in the editing phase. 

 

21 projects were qualified for this year’s edition. The list of participants includes, among others, director Michał Szcześniak, shortlisted for an Academy Award Oscar in 2015 for his film “Starting Point”, Rafael Lewandowski, highly praised for his film “The Mole”, Leszek Gnoiński the creator of the “Polish rock history” TV series and Natalia Grzegorzek, producer of “A Coach’s Daughter” and “Kamper”. The first element of the program is an intense workshop for directors and producers, focused on project development as well as searching for funds, partners and creating promotion, distribution and sale strategies. The first session starts on the 1st of April at the Łowicka Center in Warsaw. 

 

The second element of the program are the DOC TO START and DOCS TO GO pitching sessions, where the participants will present their projects to a group of international experts and have one-on-one meetings with them as part of the KFF Industry event held at the Krakow Film Festival. The most interesting projects and presentations will be awarded.

 

In 2017 the Warsaw Film Festival became one of the DOC LAB POLAND partners and hosts the third consultation session of the program, where the participant’s projects are presented to the experts are presented to the experts invited the festival.

 

DOC LAB POLAND CO-PRODUCTION MARKET CALL

 

An important event in the KFF Industry schedule will be the DOC LAB POLAND CO-PRODUCTION MARKET – the only Polish co-production meeting for producers of documentary films, who are looking both for Polish and international partners. This year, the Krakow Film Festival will highlight the Finnish cinema and that is why the industry event will host a strong representation of producers coming from Finland. A couple dozen of producers from Poland, Germany, Holland, France, Russia, UK, Denmark, Czech Republic and Switzerland will take part in one-on-one meetings. Representatives of film funds, broadcasters and sales agencies will also be guests of the market. 

 

The market will take place on a Wednesday, 29th of May in Krakow. The application deadline is 10th of April. The projects submitted to the market should be medium or full feature creative documentary films in the early or advanced stages of development.
