Exhibition of works by Bolesław Gasiński
25.05-31.05 SUN-SAT | MOS Małopolski Ogród Sztuki
Opening of the exhibition
This exhibition presents the oeuvre of Bolesław Gasiński (1935-2021), the protagonist of Michał Pietrak’s film ‘Do Painters Die Elsewhere’. It reveals the figure of a total artist, who transformed his life and home in Izabelin into an ever-changing work of art. His output, encompassing painting, graphics, sculpture, furniture and installations, grows out of the traditions of art brut, Tachisme and Polish colourism. The works on display, brought from the artist’s overgrown house, carry further the spirit of the place, which was his greatest and final composition.

Presentation of the mural celebrating the jubilee of the Krakow Film Festival
27.05 TUE 18:00 | Piętka – Piekarnia rzemieślnicza
Po raz pierwszy w historii festiwalu prezentujemy jubileuszowy mural na ścianie budynku przy ul. Asnyka 8
For the first time in the festival’s history, we are presenting a jubilee mural on the wall of the building at Asnyka Street 8/10. This collage, made of archival, historical festival posters created by such artists as Kuba Sowiński, Małgorzata Gurowska, Joanna Górska, Jerzy Skakun, Mieczysław Górowski, Tomasz Walenta, Andrzej Klimowski and Waldemar Świerzy, commemorates the event that has been part of Krakow’s cultural landscape for 65 years. In the centre, the mural features the figure 65, and its graphic elements allude to the tenderness of the world’s view, inherent in the festival’s DNA. The mural was created thanks to the collaboration of many parties, including the City of Krakow – the host of the festival, Piętka Artisan Bakery and Breakfast based in the neighbourhood and Helt, a mural painting company. Its graphic design was prepared by Przemysław Potoczny.
Please, join us for a cake and toast to celebrate the 65th anniversary!
