Helena Třeštíková

Helena Třeštíková graduated from the documentary department of Prague Film School FAMU in 1974. At the beginning, she wanted to become costume designer, but after finishing the school she chose documentary to which she remains faithful till nowadays. She specializes in pictures documenting long time period based on the "time gathered" method. Since today, she filmed more than 50 documentary films and TV series. Most often, they concern human relations and the whole diversity of social problems. Since 2002, Třeštíková is a professor at the documentary film department of FAMU. The former Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic filmed among others: Marcela" (2007), "René"(2008) and "Katka" (2010). Her latest production "Private Universe" will have its premiere this year.
 

 
Piotr Szczepanowicz

Born in 1981 in Opole. He studied Educational and Cultural Pedagogy at the University of Opole. Additionally, he holds a degree in Animated Film and Special Effects from the Cinematography Department of the Film School in Łódź. He received a Grand Prix – the Golden Pegasus – as the fifth year student for his film study Hidden at the Animator festival in Poznań. The Railway Watchman is his film debut.
