The co-author of the script to this charming, satirical as well as nostalgic story about a great battle taking place in the head of an old admiral longing for the good old times when he must have fought many a victorious naval battle is Andrzej Warchał, a graphic artist, author and important persona of Krakow’s renowned cabaret Piwnica pod Baranami as well as a leading script writer and director at the Animated Film Studio in Krakow.

He was born in 1927. He is a visual artist, screenwriter and director of animated films who graduated from the Film Directing Faculty of the Film School in Łódź. Using various animation techniques he has made about sixty films, which include: Little Western, Red and Black and The Horse. In recognition of his work he has received over eighty awards at the festivals in Cannes, Cork, Edinburgh, Oberhausen and Krakow to name just a few.
