Kate Nash: Underestimate the Girl

USA2018documentary89'Konkurs DocFilmMusic (2019)

Although she says that music keeps her alive, functioning in the music business has almost killed Kate Nash. This British vocalist, who made it to the top with her hit “Foundation” a decade ago, tells the story of her ups and downs, the omnipotence of record labels and the influence of the new media on popularity. She also reveals gender bias in the music industry. The film, stylised as a private journal and shot in Europe and the US, is a recording of her tempestuous career and the search for independence, which has recently opened a new chapter in Kate’s life.
