Humiliated, demeaned, made to work from dawn to dusk, forcibly separated from their families – this is what the everyday life of slaves in the American South was like before the Civil War. The animation presents scenes from the lives of African Americans at that time. With days filled with work on the farm, taking care of children, cooking and serving, they found it hard to have a moment to cry over their fate. Only sometimes, late at night, could they dream about freedom.
