Freedom of the Leg

Poland1988animated10'Retrospektywa Piotra Dumały (2021)

The protagonist of this perverse animation falls into pieces during his dream. The individual fragments of his body disperse around the bedroom and start their independent existence. In the morning, at the sound of the alarm clock they return into place in bed, except for the leg that chose liberty and left the room. In this surreal story devoted to freedom, and specifically to the right of individual human body parts to a free gesture, poetry is mixed with prose and reality with surreal and pure nonsense wit resulting in a fantastic collage whose main determinant is the power of imagination.
