Who's Afraid of Alice Miller?

Is it a stirring psychological drama or a suspenseful investigative documentary? Daniel Howald’s film combines both. It is a poignant story of a son who decides to find the truth about his parents after his mother’s death. As a child, Martin was beaten up by his father and his mother, who became a renowned psychoanalyst, did not demonstrate any maternal feelings towards him. To understand their behaviour, the protagonist will have to confront their tumultuous wartime past. On this journey into memories, he will be accompanied by his mom’s cousin, Irena.
